Residential Field Science Programs & Day Programs

The Outdoor Education and Science Experience (OESE) is a non-profit organization offering residential field science, environmental education, and outdoor learning opportunities to children and youth.  Our purpose is to boost academic achievement in children by promoting exploration, discovery, and a connection to nature and community.  Our staff is committed to making programs affordable for all schools.  The OESE Director will work with school personnel to customize a program to meet your academic goals and budget.

At OESE our pedagogy promotes enthusiasm for scientific inquiry by actively engaging children in the scientific process.  Carefully selected experiential and cooperative lessons make science fun and connect students to their natural environment.  Bordering the San Bernardino National Forest, our 2,200 acre outdoor classroom is ideal for lessons in bio diversity, ecology, fire ecology, astronomy, geology, wildlife biology, threatened and endangered species, environmental education, and sustainable life.

In addition, students will participate in outdoor leadership activities designed specifically to promote self-esteem, confidence, and social skills.  The Outdoor Challenge Course and Indoor Rock Wall are a favorite among teachers and students alike.

OESE offers 2-5 day Residential Field Science Programs for 5th and 6th grade students.  We also offer one-day environmental education and outdoor learning programs for children grades K-12.  All lessons and activities are aligned with California State Board of Education Science Content Standards.

Let our outdoor classroom awaken the scientist within your students.
